And the final table-ees are...
Well, another week has passed and there's not really much to say. I'm still grinding away, trying to play more tournaments, but that can get frustrating after a while at which point I revert back to cash games. So the World Series Main Event November Nine has been set. In case you haven't heard, they're changing the format this year. They're delaying the final table until November in order to hype it up and make it more of a sporting event by broadcasting it on ESPN just a day after it happens. I went over to the Rio and the final day of play but didn't stay for long. I just wasn't into it this year. When I went last year, they were down to the final five and there was the excitement of knowing a champion was about to be crowned. This year, the biggest news story was that a really hot chick made it to final two tables but she busted right before I arrived. Booo. Hellmuth and Matusow also had awesome runs but just fell short. So as it turns out, there aren't any big names at the final table. They aren't all amatures by any means but it definitely doesn't have the star-studded power that I'm sure ESPN, Bluff and other media were hoping for. There is, however, a 26-year-old University of Waterloo grad at the final table... Wait a second! I'm a 26-year-old University of Waterloo grad! Damn! Why couldn't that be me? Ah well... at least I don't have a huge gut.

Not sure if you know SirWatts, also from Waterloo and maybe a few years younger...
He just won the Bellagio Cup WPT event last night for 1.5 million.
I wish I lived in Waterloo for more than just a summer :)
Keep grinding and letting us know how things are going.
Wow, I just read his blog and a really good article about it. Speaking of Waterloo, they've been showing the first WSOP episode this season of Event #1, the one Nenad won - don't know if they're showing it in Canada yet, it's a good one. A few quips about Waterloo. I think I'm the least successful poker player to ever come from that town haha.
