You stay classy, San Jose
Well more accurately, find some class San Jose. There's gotta be some somewhere in that town. It certainly wasn't @ Rose McGowens. There was however a hint of it on North First Street @ a cozy little appartment inhabited by two Canadians and a dog named Jack. Who am I kidding? That place and those kids/dog are all class. With a capital C. And the salmon and steak were delicious with a capital D. And me going to bed @ 10 on Saturday was lame with a capital L. All in all it was another fantastic weekend in California. Being back in Vegas has been good/weird. I was running really well at the tables yesterday so I rewarded myself by taking today off and becoming a poker spectator. I checked out the final table of the main event @ the Rio. It was a really cool atmosphere. Lots of standing around but it was definitely an exciting thing to be a part of. The guy that finished second, Tuan Lam, is from Ssauga and I recognized a bunch of his supporters in the stands. Even Winnie was there! Haha. (He won the Brantford Spring Classic. See first blog post for details.) Good to see a local guy do so well - almost $5 mil! The champ, Jerry Yang was definitely the better player though. He's also a very spiritual guy and he's donating 10% of his winnings (over 800k) to charities, which is an admirable thing. Hopefully today's events have reinspired me to achieve poker greatness. Haha. I'll let you know how that works out.
